Welcome to FIH Quest ("FIH Quest", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use FIH Quest. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. User Content

Users may submit photographs, catch information, species data, comments, profile information, and other content ("User Content").

You retain ownership of any User Content you submit. However, by uploading or submitting User Content, you grant FIH Quest a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to: store, host, reproduce, and display the content; use the content for operation of the platform; analyze and review the content for species identification and verification; calculate rankings, points, achievements, tournament standings, and statistics; feature catches, leaderboards, and community highlights within FIH Quest; and use submitted content in promotional materials, social media posts, marketing content, and platform showcases related to FIH Quest.

This license continues until the content is removed from our systems, except where retention is required for legal, administrative, fraud prevention, or recordkeeping purposes.

3. Catch Verification

FIH Quest may use submitted photographs, metadata, and catch information to verify fish species, catch legitimacy, tournament eligibility, point calculations, and rule compliance. Verification decisions are made at our sole discretion. Submission of a photograph does not guarantee approval, points, ranking placement, tournament eligibility, or verification.

4. Moderation and Content Removal

All User Content is subject to review. FIH Quest reserves the right, at any time and for any reason, to remove or edit content, reject catch submissions, recalculate points, suspend or terminate accounts, and remove tournament entries or leaderboard placements. Content may be removed if it is inaccurate, inappropriate, misleading, fraudulent, offensive, violates applicable laws, or otherwise harms the integrity of the platform. We are under no obligation to provide notice before removing content.

5. Accuracy of Information

Users are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information is accurate. Providing false catch information, manipulated images, duplicate submissions, impersonation, cheating, or other fraudulent activity may result in point removal, disqualification from tournaments, account suspension, or permanent account termination.

6. Intellectual Property

All FIH Quest branding, logos, software, databases, scoring systems, designs, graphics, and platform functionality are owned by FIH Quest or its licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to upload illegal or infringing content; upload content you do not own or have permission to use; attempt to manipulate rankings or points; use automated tools to abuse the platform; interfere with the operation of FIH Quest; or harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.

8. Tournaments and Rankings

Tournament rules, rankings, points, achievements, and leaderboard calculations may change at any time. FIH Quest reserves the right to modify scoring formulas, correct calculation errors, re-rank participants, cancel or modify tournaments, and disqualify participants for rule violations. All tournament and scoring decisions are final.

9. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to FIH Quest at any time for violations of these Terms or for conduct that we believe threatens the integrity, security, or operation of the platform.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

FIH Quest is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties regarding accuracy of species identification, accuracy of point calculations, continuous availability of the service, or error-free operation. Use of the platform is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FIH Quest and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the platform.

12. Privacy

Your use of FIH Quest is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and store personal information.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of FIH Quest after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

1. What We Collect

When you register: your username, email address, and hashed password. When you log catches: species, measurements, GPS coordinates, photos, weather data, and any notes you provide.

2. How We Use It

Your data is used solely to provide the Service: displaying catches, computing scores, showing maps, and running leaderboards. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Photos

Photos you upload are stored on Amazon S3 and are visible to other users of the Service via your catch entries.

4. Location Data

GPS coordinates are stored per catch if you choose to set a location. This data is visible to other users on catch maps and leaderboards.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in (JWT token). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You may request account deletion by contacting us, which will remove your catch data and personal information.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All connections are encrypted via HTTPS.
